The Role
My work involved a lot of reporting, so a lot of time on Excel. However I was also trusted to be involved with conference calls with management and had the opportunity to get involved in further projects.
The people I worked directly for knew my work was important to them so I was definitely valued.
Lots of support was given by both my managers.
Variable, I had set tasks i had to complete and then dependent on the point in the financial quater/what was on dictated how busy I was .
I high amount amount, I was trusted highly and was given full transparency with the sales numbers which was very intresting.
Excel = important skills for work in a corporate environment. Soft skills were deffo advanced which make a big difference in all walks of life.
The Company
Corporate but friendly - there was a great intern community.
IBM have had the placement year for years so it was very well organised.
My team made sure I knew my day job - after that I was free to direct my own devleopment.

The Culture
Yes there was over 100 interns at Southbank (my base) so a lot of friendly faces.
London - so expensive but I'm from north london so living was subsidised.
Lots going on
Intern events/networking was often especiially at the start. There was also scope to direct your own social activites. I also played for IBM football club which was a laugh.
