The Role
A brilliant company to work for and I would recommend them to anyone. There are always events inside work and outside work that you can take part in such as volunteering, screenings etc. An example of one that happened when I was at the company, was [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] 90th birthday celebrations which was over the course of a week in the office.
Everyone is so easy to approach and are always willing to help with problems. If you have any questions you can ask someone in the team and they will point you in the right direction. You are not treated as an intern, but everyone is also understanding that you will lack knowledge in some areas.
I could not fault the support and the guidance which was given to me by my manager. I had a weekly one to one in place which was a good way for me to bring up any issues I had without having to approach my manager and ask for a time to do so because it was already in place.
I personally feel like it was the perfect balance of being busy. There was always something to do due to the team being in the middle of a big project. If I felt like I did not have enough work to complete then I would approach my manager about this concern and she would always be willing to help/
I felt like throughout my placement I was given as much responsibility as I wanted. There was a lot of trust put in to my work and as the placement went on throughout the year and my skills and knowledge grew, I was given more responsibility which therefore improved my confidence levels.
I believe that the skills which I have developed and the confidence I have gained on this placement year is exactly what I wanted to get from this year. It will help me when I go back to final year of university and it will also help when it comes to jobs in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is very relaxed and it has the added bonus of being able to do flexi time. I think that this is invaluable because some people have long commutes and would like to get home earlier in the evening. I think that because of the relaxed atmosphere, it makes completing this easier.
It was very good because at the start of my placement there was a handover week with the two previous interns and they showed me how to work the systems and introduced me to everyone in the team. I think that this set up the internship perfectly and I thought that it was a good idea on Disneys behalf.
There is a website called D Learn which allows you to take training courses and to work on your skills both within Disney and skills which I can bring to other companies after my degree. I think that this is very beneficial as not every company would do this and for someone starting out in their career it is very worth while.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home

I would definitely consider working for Disney in the future although there does not seem to be many job opportunities in place within the company unless you are a contractor. They seem to take on contractors instead of full time employees and this would affect my decision to work here in the future.
The Culture
The social scene among st fellow placement students is very good. There is a Facebook group for the interns within Disney which is about 200 and they organised events and nights out to allow for you to meet other people within the office. I think this is good because of the size of the office.
The placement is in London so therefore the cost of living is very expensive which is expected but I do find that because of the many options of social aspects in London that the cost of Living is worth it. I also find that the wages in London live up to the cost of living.
I did not really experience the nightlife in Hammersmith but there are lots of nightlife in London as you can imagine. There are lots of different social scenes around london to suit everyone and due to the tube system they are all easy to access and easy to return home after a night out.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work such as pub quizzes in the bars in hammer smith, there are screenings for the new films in the local VUE cinema and there are also volunteering opportunities for the local community and around London which is a good way to help people.
