  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My experience was enjoyable, I learnt a huge amount throughout my year. However, there were periods where I lacked enough work to complete.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • In my experience during my placement I was afforded a lot of trust from my colleagues, who treated me as a regular full time employee. I had the chance to get involved with a number of projects working with people of all levels.

  • IBM have a good structure for young professionals. You are assigned a task manager to assign work and an EPM or personnel manager which helps to provide all the support I required.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My role went through some periods where I was busy and some where I really had nothing to do. But I found it relatively easy to find other projects to get involved with

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Some projects that I worked on gave me a great deal of responsibility and I felt that I had the opportunity to lead. Whilst others I did not have much input into.

  • I definitely feel a lot more confident and prepared about going into the world of work now.
