The Role
My experience was enjoyable, I learnt a huge amount throughout my year. However, there were periods where I lacked enough work to complete.
In my experience during my placement I was afforded a lot of trust from my colleagues, who treated me as a regular full time employee. I had the chance to get involved with a number of projects working with people of all levels.
IBM have a good structure for young professionals. You are assigned a task manager to assign work and an EPM or personnel manager which helps to provide all the support I required.
My role went through some periods where I was busy and some where I really had nothing to do. But I found it relatively easy to find other projects to get involved with
Some projects that I worked on gave me a great deal of responsibility and I felt that I had the opportunity to lead. Whilst others I did not have much input into.
I definitely feel a lot more confident and prepared about going into the world of work now.
