    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight week was enjoyable because I gained the first-hand insights into Investment Banking, which I had really wanted to learn about. However, it was made more enjoyable by the fact that all the other interns got along so well.

  • During my time at Jefferies I felt very valued. I felt valued for a variety of reasons ranging from being provided with lunch to the employees being open to questions at all times.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Instead of directly receiving support, I feel it was always available had I required it. For example, if I was struggling with something there was always someone I would be able to ask.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A lot of the activities throughout the insight week were team-orientated hence allowing us to developed our teamwork skills. In addition, I feel the insight week really helped with communication skills due to the number of people we met throughout the week.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I feel it was very well structured. The beginning of the week consisted of presentations, which gave us overviews into Investment Banking and allowed me to get a slight feel on what areas interested me more. Towards the latter end of the week, we were given work shadowing opportunities which helped to deepen our understanding of Investment Banking. Throughout the week there were also a range of networking opportunities.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • As mentioned before, I really enjoyed the atmosphere as all I feel I got along well with all the interns and employees I met.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • 4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • There was a lot of emphasis placed on the exposure that employees are given at junior levels. Unlike a lot of other banks, Jefferies appears to have a culture where juniors can always approach seniors for help etc...

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I feel some work shadowing opportunities weren't as focused as others. As a result, I gained an insight into some sector/product teams that I shadowed more than others. This has left me still deciding what area of IB I have a preference for.

    4/5
