About You
It was an incredibly entertaining experience, the staff took extreme care of us and made sure we were satisfied and enjoying our time. Lots of socialising and fun activities throughout to ensure us enjoying the time while still giving us a glimpse of the workplace. The challenges were fun while still challenging on multiple levels.
We were made to feel as a future investment to the firm, and socialised with both graduate level and senior level employees. Making us feel part of the firm. We were given the Ur pat care In accomodation, food and transport. As well as ensuring we had all we need to enjoy the full experience.
Every part of the insight was thoroughly explained and introduced. The firm's values and prospects were clearly indicated and shown. Any problem we had we were encouraged to ask and seek support. The staff in charge of the insight made sure to leave lots of room for feedback and reiteration of the days' events.
The skills and experiences gained were massively helpful in giving a glimpse to actual career life. And what would be expected in the workplace. While also clearly showing the process of induction, assesment and internship positions throughout the company and industry. The spring week also gave us some confidence when it comes to applying to firms in general.
The Company
Several events throughout the week were set up. Including lots of breaks throughout to make sure the applicants had ample breaks and rests. In general the events were all around encompassing everything from talks, seminars, challenges, insight into working for JP Morgan and industry level standards and approaches to workplace and internships.
The atmosphere experienced was very casual and relaxed. The staff in charge always had a semi professional attitude but established a relation with all the applicants. There was lots of space left for the applicants to socialise and the events set up encouraged team work and communicating with other applicants. Which encouraged everyone to have fun as much as learn.
The applicants had opportunity to shadow and ask grad employees about what it was like to work for JP Morgan. The shadowing was completely casual and we were encouraged to ask anything in regards to working and the experiences of being an employee for JP Morgan. We were shown around the campus and had a glimpse of the workspaces.
Massive importance was given to showcasing and teaching the applicants the values at JP Morgan, sessions and talks were given with the focus on the values. And reaffirmations that having the same values as the firm will only benefit you as you are also testing the firm to see if it is a fit for you as much as you are a fit for them.
The entirety of the spring week helped me develop an image and ambition for my future goal in a computer science oriented career and tech in general. It reaffirmed that it is indeed where I would like to work. And it would be a pleasure to have the opportunity to start that career at JP Morgan.
Everything Else
Lots of networking opportunities were arranged where we met both grad and senior employees. We were able to have casual conversations with both involving the company, the values, the roles and anything else that comes into mind. There were also opportunities to shadow employees to get a grasp of their workday.
I have already recommended the insight to several friends. And have encouraged them to apply for future ones.
