The Role
I really enjoyed my time at IBM and had loads of opportunities to network and develop my skills
In your role you get given a lot of responsibility and every person you work with treats you like a regular employee, no one looks down on you for being an intern
At IBM you really get all the support you need, everyone is really approachable and people are always open to help out and have a chat
Always very busy
I have now a much clearer idea of what I want to do as a future career
The Company
The atmosphere was really positive, everyone is really friendly and the open desk policy allows you to sit anywhere
It was really organised, there is a review every three months and your progress is followed throughout the year. There are also a lot of events organised for interns to get to know each other, especially at the beginning of the year.
IBM really invests on its people, there are a lot of online training available to all employees and interns get access to the same tools as all other IBMers which is great
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Interns get the opportunity to be fast-tracked to Graduate roles
The Culture
Yes, there were over 100 interns in Southbank and we all got to know each other through events organised by IBM such as the Christmas boat Party across the Themes
London is very expensive
IBM offers a lot of opportunities to get involved with networking groups, give-back activities and shadowing opportunities outside your job role
