About You
The 2019 Spring into Technology Week was a great opportunity to discover more about the bank's culture, its various divisions, and its job opportunities. I really enjoyed the variety of activities we did during the week as well as all networking sessions: those were great opportunities to interact with employees and find out more about the firm.
JP Morgan really appeared as a bank that invests a lot on young people. In fact, we were provided with various training (both technical and personal). We were also able to ask all the questions we had in mind which was very helpful and insightful. I really enjoyed my time there.
Asking all the questions and learning more about the assessment process was great to understand what was expected in the firm. Moreover, the various training and interactive sessions were opportunities to learn more about banking in general; Finally, networking with employees was great to better understand our career perspectives. We definitely had a lot of guidance.
In my opinion, what was really differentiating was the fact that we were provided with technical and behavioral training. I really felt I had made progress at the end of the week. Moreover, the insight was an opportunity to gather more information about the assessment process and internship opportunities. I believe it was very enriching and we were provided with the material to keep making progress.
The Company
At the beginning of the week, we received a very clear time schedule explaining the various sessions we would be taking part in. The sessions were quite intense but very enriching and learning. It really appeared to me that a little more progress was made every day which was very great.
I really enjoyed the programme because I got the chance to interact with a lot of people. First of all, it was great to meet all the spring interns (not only from the finance for non-finance spring but also from the technology and firmwide spring programmes). Moreover, we met with many employees and HRs. It was really a learning atmosphere.
Networking with employees as well as discovering more about the various divisions and asking our questions were great opportunities to better understand the roles you can play at JP Morgan. Moreover, the training and interactive sessions were helpful because they helped us understand which positions would suit us in our opinion.
I discovered more about JP Morgan's values, approach to both employees and applicants and expectations towards people working in the firm. I would definitely say I better understood the company's culture and I think that interacting with all the spring interns in the programme was also a great way to do so.
I believe that my time at JP Morgan helped me discover some positions in the bank I didn't know previously and would like to discover more. Additionally, it was great to interact with various employees because they were also in our shoes previously and understand the questions and doubts we might have before starting to work.
Everything Else
There were a lot of opportunities to ask questions which I believe was very differentiating. Obviously, we were many spring interns so it was sometimes difficult to ask a question but the employees were very open and tried to answer as many questions as possible. I believe the interactive sessions were also great opportunities to get in touch with employees.
What I really liked about the programme is that we had opportunities to network with employees, but also with all the spring interns. Moreover, we had a session to give us a little more insights about the assessment process and we could ask our questions to the HRs, which was extremely helpful as well.
I would definitely recommend this programme to any student eager to learn more about the various divisions within the banking industry and interested in finding more about the culture at JP Morgan. It is a great opportunity to improve and broaden one's skill set and to contemplate a career in finance, even for students who don't have a finance background.
