About You
The programme was very insightful and helped me to understand a lot about BP IST and the industry
People were very friendly and were more than willing to answer any questions you had. As interns, we were definitely well taken care of.
The coordinator of the insight programme, was very supportive and approachable. She even bought cupcakes to celebrate one of the intern's birthday.
BP IST's trading scheme gave me some insight into the demand and supply conditions of the oil and gas industry which, as an economist, I was able to appreciate.
The Company
The insight programme was well planned and not too demanding. It was great that there were lots of opportunities to get to know the other interns well and find out about the company.
There were many talks throughout the week but these were quite interactive and engaging. Everyone was warm and very helpful.
The trading game was a great opportunity to learn about the skills and temperament required to be a trader but there could have been more hands-on activities like that.
There were lots of opportunities to speak to employees from all levels in the company and they were more than willing to share their experiences working in BP.
All of the employees were eager to talk about BP's culture which was really helpful in giving us an insight into BP's culture.
The programme opened my eyes to the oil and gas industry and trading.
Everything Else
We were paid for our time and were allowed to claim travel expenses. BP also booked hotel rooms for those who needed accommodation and that came with dinner as well.
There were many such opportunities everyday and you could also walk up to the speaker at the end of his/her presentation to have a chat.
Many employees were invited down for the networking session which made it very cozy to ask questions and have a conversation.
The employees we shadowed were happy to share about their work-life balances.
It's a great programme with lots of learning opportunities and chances to build long-lasting friendships.
