The Role
It has really been a very interesting year from every perspective. I can say that I have really enjoyed working for a company as big as IBM while also being part of a very healthy corporate culture.
I have seen that my work was appreciated throughout my time here and that people were not hesitant to express their gratitude.
Support was more than adequate by the Early Professionals team and has really helped us as interns to gain insights on how to progress our careers both at IBM but wherever else we feel is right for us.
IBM's placement scheme gives you the opportunity to own enough responsibility so as to provide value to your business process, but also makes sure that you get enough free time to pursue your own interests within the company's vast pool of learning resources and giveback opportunities.
As stated above, there was a healthy balance between responsibility to your business unit and freedom to get involved in projects that you may find appealing, or you believe will add value to your overall experience.
I have viewed this past year as a learning experience and not a job. Having developed my technical skills as well as unlocking new sets of soft skills has really equipped me for my final year as well as my future career.
The Company
Generally it was very friendly and it inspired productivity as well as professionalism.
Very clear and organised. The structure was well-defined and allowed us to set meaningful goals and milestones.
My manager was not only always keen to support me in any personal learning opportunities I want to take on, but was also proactive in suggesting opportunities to me.

IBM has been awarded the top overall graduate employer of the year for the second year in a row so I think that says it all. A great opportunity to kickstart your career in a top corporation with the flexibility to find your own appeal within the scheme.
The Culture
Absolutely, it was not at all difficult to find a group of interns to hang out with at the start but also everyone was keen for a chat anytime!
Compared with other locations of the same company it was high as it was central London.
London is somewhere where you can enjoy yourself any time of the day, especially at night!
Yes, again London provides a platform for all kinds of lifestyle.
