The Role
While I had opportunities to brush up on my financial knowledge at University I was completely new to natural resources, which ia a partucularly technical field. However all of my colleagues were so helpful with regards to me inexperience, and what had potential to be a very difficult experienced proved to be quite enjoyable and very rewarding.
Accenture really makes their interns and graduates feel valued.I have exposure to senior manager from very early on and the unusual opportunity to move around within the department to department or from country to country. The unique point about Accenture to me is that they don't recruit to someone's knowledge base, they recruit me for the type of person and then teach me the knowledge i need. Every single employee that i have worked has been more than happy to help, interesed in what i am doing and always strived to involveme whereverpossible.
I had very little contact with my manager but my supervisor provided a good level of support and guidance. However I was expected to work independently most of the time.
Every intern has the flexibility and opportunity to take the reignswuth regard their own work.I can be in the office calling customers and I got a good sence of all areas of the business, from sales to customer service.
I have learnt a lot more on my placement that i ever thought I would. The main area I believe I have developed is my communications skills.Thought working with external customer and suppliers,I have learnt how to communicate appropriately throught email and the phone.I also feel that i have improved my time management by working. This is a great skill that I will take back to university wth me ad to future jobs after I have graduated.
At University I studied Accounting and Finance studied at Northampton. I finish mu University master degree. It is a tough qualification but it has been great to do it with a support network of people in the same situation. In additional to the qualification,I have also learnt a lot of employability skills, such as teamwork and organisational skills which will help me in the final year of my master degreein my future career.
The Company
Eventhough hardworking, my team were fun and we would have some entertaining discussions. Generally in the office, everybody is quite social and people are friendly, and often say hello.
The internship felt well organised from the beginning,Interns received packs detailing all essentials information will in advance and it was explained how time would be split between main office and working at the regional office.
We had a week of training which was helpful and then most of our learning was done on the project.

very. I would definitely consider working with Accenture in the future, although due to the recruitment timeline, it appears that I will have to wait 2 years before I could join if I were offered a job.
The Culture
There were events/socials organised for interns, as well as events organised by interns. The ones organised by Accenture were especially good fun.
I found everything very expensive, and towards the end of my internship I tried to bring in my own lunch to save money.
There are pubs/bars around but I only went out a couple of times during my internship so I didn't really experience the night scene.
I was able to volunteer to help at temple.
