The Role
Thoroughly my enjoyed placement at E.ON would highly recommend those who are looking to gain sector specific knowledge and experience to apply.
When engaging with colleagues as an undergraduate there often a reference to a 'fresh pair of eyes'. I was be able to identify things experienced colleagues previously hadn't. Which is why my comments and observations were valued by my colleagues.
I was given adequate support and guidance. There is an element of freedom to be creative with ideas and solutions. When set all tasks, the expectations are laid out regarding timescales and scope of work, it was my responsibility to manage that during the process.
Regarding my work, I was responsible for everything. It was a constant communication between me and my supervisor regarding updating them on the work and whether I would satisfy all the objectives before deadlines.
100%. The sector specific knowledge I have gained will be inviolable going forward as I can apply real life experience and engagement to whatever role I intend to pursue in the future. Furthermore, my general organisation skills will support me in becoming more diligent with university work.
