    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I am grateful to have had this working environment experience. However, I do not believe enough focus is put on interns as many are twiddling their thumbs half the time.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel average valued, the correct amount for a placement student.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was excellent and we had a 1:1 meeting every other week when some interns haven't had one of these all year.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I would definitely have a couple hours each day where I wasn't working too hard and get bored.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I think I have been given the correct amount. It wasn't a lot, but with the department I am in, i do not believe any more than this would have been appropriate. i work a lot by myself but my manager will generally glance over all of my work before anything happens with it which is good.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • General skills developed, comfortable with 3 or so new software programmes. Nothing to do with course.

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Quiet and pretty hard working. Good to work in.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Start of placement dreadfully organised. Plenty of issues with contract, no help with houses. didnt get paid for 2 months.

    1/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Very Very little. Team had an overnight stay with exercises and activites to do with work and interns were not invited depite their being 3 of us and that additional cost being very minimal.

    1/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Company Car

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Zero chance, no ex interns hired as graduates in last 5 years. 5 grads per year, 70+ interns per year.

    1/5
