The Role
Great working hours and weekends off. Coming over from a Retail background is definitely a major change for the positive of course. Working alongside the supply base and getting involved in numerous projects, plus having some of your own projects definitely teaches you time management and working closely to deadlines to achieve set targets and milestones.
From day one you are treated with respect and enough attention is given to you. Your opinion is valued and you are asked to share your views on different topics that your department is involved. The team and colleagues remind you not to be afraid of asking questions and that fresh pair of eyes is always positive a s they can bring new ideas and see things in different ways.
Management and supervisors closely work with you in order to complete projects and meet deadlines. Both are very supportive in both their expectations and task set. you can usually count on them for any support that is required or ask any questions related or not related to the job i.e. personal situations affecting your work life
Weekly task routine. Additional tasks required depending on the situation. The world is always manageable with constant reviews on making sure that you can achieve everything and you are not overloaded with tasks. Task are shared by the team members and you can always find support if required or when the task get too much to cope with.
Variety of responsibility was given. Some of the tasks included preparing presentations for management overviews and summarizing current task for the team. Projects included both participation through data collection in leading projects and managing it. The presentations that were prepared were shown to suppliers and even you could present those presentations to the suppliers.
All the experienced gathered throughout the internship will be beneficial in the future impossibility and will benefit on a large scale. In terms of the usefulness of the internship towards your degree you will definitely earn some transferable skills which will be useful at University. Additionally, you will gain more knowledge of how big organisations work and their work ethics.
The Company
Atmosphere in the office was allways proffesional and friednly. From day one you felt welcome. The teams collaborate a lot working towards goals and projects and the vibe in the office is very lively.
Organisation overall was well done. There was a month's worth of handover from the previous intern which allowed smooth transition and familiarization with the daily tasks. Handover instructions and packs were also prepared which allowed you to look back and track in case you have forgotten. This was really useful
there wasn't really lot of personal training involved as it wasn't required for the job
Subsidised/Company Gym
