The Role
It was a completely different environment from what I've done before so that kept it interesting. Everyone was very welcoming and willing to help me when I had questions. I quite like being behind the scenes so doing the administration work for the team fit really well with what I was looking for.
I felt and feel very valued by my team! They nominated me for a star award during my internship to show how much they appreciated all my work which was a very lovely thing for them to do :)
Sophie is really good at checking in to make sure I'm keeping up with everything, and that I have enough variety in my duties to keep my days interesting.
It really depended - the more I learned the more I took on, but my internship took place over the Christmas holidays so it was quite slow over that time!
Again, the more I learned the more responsibilities I had. Pretty quickly I took ownership of the compliance side of things and as I've progressed I have carved out my area of work.
I am done with my degree so it won't be useful there, but I know I'll take the skills learned here with me to my next job, whenever that will be :)
The Company
I really enjoyed sitting with my team, but it does get quite quiet in the front office!
The internship wasn't a super scheduled placement - it shifted with how quickly I developed and what the team's needs were (which I appreciated!)
During the Internship there wasn't a lot of training by the company (obviously there was by my team) - I did iLearns which were mandatory but any Reed training I've undergone has happened while I've been a permanent member of staff.
I have been made perm so the obvious answer is that they are appealing, but in a limited sense. Since I don't want to be a consultant I would be limited in my choices to stay in the company, but I'm very happy where I am at the moment.
The Culture
I didn't meet any of the other people in placements so I can't say.
Also hard to answer this one as I very luckily live with my cousin who also works for Reed! If I had been on my own or in a house share it probably would have been a struggle as Bristol City Centre is quite pricey.
I don't go out that often but there are lots of bars/pubs/fun things in Bristol.
Like I said above, there's always lots happening in Bristol - in terms of work organized activities there wasn't much, but outside of that lots!
