The Role
My enjoyment throughout the year varied due to the nature of the projects that I was involved in. If I found the project interesting then my overall morale and enjoyment would be high however some of the projects seemed to drag.
I feel like I was valued reasonably well, due to the responsibility I was given throughout the year. Certainly in my team I was valued however in the organization as a whole maybe not so much.
I felt I received a lot of support from my supervisors as whenever I had a question I could always take it to them and they would always be approachable and happy to help.
This one again varied due to the nature of the projects and how much responsibility I was given. Some days would be flat out and I would have to work til late whereas some days I would just be sat watching the clock.
As I have mentioned previously I do feel like I was given a lot of responsibility for example I was in charge of tracking the team's finances and organizing promotional and medical educational events. However with great responsibility comes great pressure so to deliver, so there were a few stressful times along the road.
To a very good extent I would say. For example my excel and outlook skills improved tremendously which will be vital for me in later life due to the digital world we live in. Also the insight that I have gained into the corporate world will be extremely useful no matter what industry I decide to work in.
The Company
The atmosphere was great, everyone was so friendly and willing to help. Also the team that I was in (the people I sat directly next to) were amazing and we had so many laughs throughout the year.
It was fairly organised. The handover period could've been a bit longer as it was hard to get to grips with all the systems after 2 weeks but I guess I just learnt as went along.
We were given a mentor half way through the year that I never reached out to as I personally never really found the need for it since i was quite happy to just go to my team about any queries or issues I had.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Working from home
I personally don't feel that the future employment prospects are that appealing due to the low graduate job wage that they offer and from this year I have realized that I don't want to just be stuck at the same desk all day.
The Culture
I was lucky to have a good group of fellow placement students as we all got on well however there is not much to do in High Wycombe so we had to branch out to places like Watford for nights out which was not cheap.
As I mentioned before it did cost quite a lot to socialize since we would have to branch out to other locations, however I commuted from home so I didn't spend too much overall. Most of my money went on petrol.
Useless, plain and simple.
Personally no because I wasn't proactive enough about it. If you wanted to go on a field visit with an account manager you would have to do all the arranging yourself and since there were no account managers in my therapy area I struggled getting in contact with any.
