The Role
I really enjoyed my placement as I was given a high level of responsibility from the start.
My colleagues at VWFS treated me with respect from the start and I was given the same treatment and opportunities as a full time member of staff.
My manager could not have been more supportive and really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable in my role and felt supported throughout my year in placement.
This varied as we work on a quarterly basis and therefore I had really busy times and then some quieter down-times where I was able to explore the department and work within other teams.
I was given a high level of responsibility from the start and my work was being used to make real life business decisions which effects profitability.
I have had access to LifeSkill sessions such as excel skills, presentation skills, and networking skills which will help me in future careers. This placement year has taught me invaluable skills such as responsibility, time management, and decision making as well as guiding me how to conduct myself in the workplace. These skills will help me to finish my degree to the best of my ability.
The Company
Friendly and happy atmosphere although there was busy times where it was particularly quiet.
This placement was set up in a great way and employees of VWFS are aware of the tasks and responsibilities we should be carrying out.
Any sort of training we required was given to us and our personal development was a main focus of our placement year.

There is a chance to receive a 'golden ticket' for the grad scheme which will take you through to assessment centre instead of going through all of the recruitment process.
The Culture
We made sure we done social activities as a undergrad cohort as well as in our departments.
I lived at home and therefore commuted, however Milton Keynes is not a very expensive area to socialise in.
The nightlife was limited although a good range of restaurants and bars.
I got involved in a Tough Mudder as well as a half marathon, as well as team nights out.
