The Role
From day 1, my line manager endorsed me with real responsibilities and treated me the same way he treated other colleague in my team with no distinctions. Despite being an undergraduate, I felt valued and I could express my ideas and thoughts. After about 6 months, my manager gave me the task to lead on some initiatives to further develop myself. Perfect environment to grow, understand your limits and challenge yourself.
My line manager and colleagues treated me as a peer from day 1 and other stakeholders were friendly and professional. No one ever pulled ranks on me. Some stakeholders were not even aware of me being an undergraduate; in E.ON grades in the hierarchy seem to be unimportant.
I was assigned a graduate buddy who helped me with any query. The talent team in HR were also available all the time to help me with anything I could have issues with. The main point of contact was my line manager and a senior colleague in my team who set up weekly check up with me to understand if I was doing the right things and if my mental health was alright.
The team I was assigned to were a reactive team. Some days could have been super busy with literally no time to have lunch and other days could have been more chilled with hours I could spend on personal development
I was given the same responsibilities of everyone else in my team. As a reference, my team mates were all grade 4 and my manager did not do any distinctions between me and them in terms of work load and responsibilities
My back ground is Business Administration and Economics with some taste of Law and Compliance. I worked in the Smart Meters Compliance team, but only a few times I applied what I studied to my day to day tasks or viceversa
The Company
Everyone was super friendly and it was easy to network with people at all levels.
HR and my line manager nailed it in organising my placement. I was given clear tasks and objectives since day one and had monthly meetings with my manager to check progress against objectives.
I could spend at least two hours per week on personal development. Everyone was helpful and about once every two weeks I shadowed someone to understand better another area of the business

I secure a graduate scheme thanks to the fast track process for undergraduates
The Culture
Some of the other undergraduates avoided the other students since day 1. All colleagues are really friendly at all levels.
Definitely a lot of things to do and cheap. Nottingham is a uni town; lots of cool places to go
