The Role
The staff at the branch was great and very supportive from the first day till the day I left. My manager was always there if I had any, work related or non work related.
As time progressed and more responsibilities were given to me I felt a more valued member of the team with a clear defined role.
Management was always there in person or by email if I had any enquiries/questions. If I lost my confidence I was always reassured and feedback.
Work load can be daunting, especially when the branch is short staffed. Long hours are to be expected.
As time progressed, more responsibility was given to me. By the end of my placement I felt confidence in my abilities to work within my team and know my dedicated duties.
My confidence has developed. When I first started working, I was shy and timid. This has drastically changed. I have also learnt additional skills such as understanding financial statements which I had not learnt in my degree.
The Company
Staff were also enthusiastic, full of energy and welcomed new staff with open arms.
Clearly defined training week. All information was given and if there were any questions they were answered immediately.
Training was provided on a regular basis. The first week included a 2night hotel stay and then regular training intervals after that.

Company Parties/Events
Every member of staff starts off as a "management trainee". If you want to progress into other departments you have to be promoted in group rental before moving into different departments.
The Culture
Socials included one evening out during the year. As I didn't know many people I didn't attend. Other conversations are by email or phone.
I lived at home so ended up saving money during the year.
I lived in my hometown so nothing different to what I'm used to.
Events such as volunteering is encouraged. This is an assigned day, usually during the weekend.
