    The Culture

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Due to the university being in the city centre, Coventry is quite expensive in accommodation. However, if you have a car, you can get a good accommodation further from the centre.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not very appealing, however Birmingham is in close proximity

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Each year at E.ON, there are around 20 or more undergraduate placements, and due to the vast office and site locations, we undergraduates are based in different locations. As part of the undergraduate Scheme at E.ON, HR assists us in organizing around four Community Days throughout the placement year, as a way of interacting with each other and learning more about each other roles. Each Community Day is hosted by different undergraduates, and in November, I volunteered to be one of the hosts. We could tailor the agenda as we wished, but the structure in each of them was basically the same; we played an E.ON themed game, we had a guest speaker from the company and in the end, a team building exercise.
