About You
The weeks was incredibly enjoyable and I learnt much about the culture of the firm. The chance to experience a new area of the law was a great challenge and I was well accommodated by the team.
The team welcomed me to the office and were exceptionally friendly. I was given meaningful research to conduct during the week. I was also able to go around the firm more widely and speak with other members of staff. Everyone was willing to give up time and speak with me.
I was encouraged to ask as many questions as possible and given much guidance in relation to tasks I was given. I was always supported throughout all my work and felt comfortable asking for more guidance if I needed to.
The research skills and knowledge of the basic principles of the law related to the teams work will be very useful moving forward.
The Company
The week was very well structured and organised. I knew exactly when I needed to hand in assessed work during the week and when I would be presenting the project I had been assigned to complete. This enabled me to organize my time effectively.
Everyone in the office was exceptionally friendly and willing to talk to me. I was welcomed by the trainees and paralegals at the firm and able to spend time with them during the week. Their insight and advice was invaluable.
The firm provided great advice regarding any work I was completing. I was also able to gain much insight into how a career at the firm would progress.
The opportunity to speak with trainees and solicitors at the firm was very revealing. They were always on hand to speak about the work they do and the experience of working at the firm day to day.
Being immersed in the firm for the week provided a great experience of the culture. The atmosphere was great and definitely one I'd be happy to be a part of.
The firm and its attitude has only affirmed my commitment to gain a training contract and to carry on with a career in law.
Everything Else
I was encouraged to speak with as many people around the firm as possible. This was both to learn more about their work and also to gain advice for my presentation.
I was able to network with everyone at the firm throughout the week and also at an external training morning. Whilst there were no social events on the week I attended I was able to assist with selling tickets for a social event the following week.
The amount of charity and activities available at the firm was plain to see. The opportunity to get involved in these was always presented to me. There is a wide array of activities available at the firm.
I would absolutely recommend the placement. I thoroughly enjoyed my week and learnt much from my time at the firm.
