The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and was consistently given valuable work pitched at the correct level to stretch me and give me helpful experience.
I felt highly valued by my colleagues, particularly towards the end of my placement when I could really add value to the team.
My manager was excellent at keeping on top of my development and giving me consistent guidance while I was learning to help me with future roles.
I have been busy every day since the start of my placement. The level of work has been challenging at times, but I felt well prepared to cope with this.
I was given a high level of responsibility, within reason, which made me feel even more valued and gave me a sense of what a permanent position at the company would entail.
This experience has been invaluable as I start to look for permanent roles post-university. But more importantly, I can see how my experiences directly relate to my degree and will help me excel in my final year of studies.
The Company
The level of work in my team is consistently high across the board. Therefore, the atmosphere is very focused and quiet to enable everyone to work. This means that casual conversation was rare, but also ensured I was as productive as possible.
The placement was excellent, I had a clear role with set responsibilities that evolved and developed as I became more comfortable and experienced.
I recieved a high level of training and development - this is something my manager was particularly focused on and something I am hugely grateful for looking back.
Flexi Time
National Travel
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The graduate scheme is particularly appealing to me and I will be applying for this.
The Culture
I did not engage in the social activities organised, but there were several on offer.
I am unsure, I did not live in the area.
I am unsure, I did not engage in the nightlife in the area.
There were few opportunities that I am aware of, particularly within my team.
