The Role
My Placement Year has been a fantastic experience I have learnt more at Nissan than I have from my 2 years at University.
Everyone has been friendly and helpful if I needed to ask a question.
Regular catch ups, review yearly plan strategy and on the job learning.
Everyday I come into work with tasks and a purpose. Never a quiet day!
At Nissan you are given a real job with real responsibility. I loved how my team trust me with great responsibility this made me feel like a valued member of the team.
I will be going back to University in a routine and will try to achieve the best grade I can. I developed presentation skills, organization and time management. On a daily basis I need to priorities tasks.
The Company
The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. Always chance for a catch up in the kitchen or people coming to my desk for a quick chat.
My Placement role had a plan of the different tasks I should complete every month. I was given required training too.
I went on 2 formal training courses I really enjoyed this and would loved to go on more if I had the time. I was trained up fully on systems.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I would love to come back as a Graduate but I am not sure if they have the positions to offer me a position.
The Culture
The Placement Awards were a fantastic opportunity to meet before everyone finished their role. I lived at home but never felt isolated from the other students and would often meet them for lunch.
Extremely cheap and I lived at home and commuted so my biggest expense was petrol. You have a fantastic quality of living in the North East.
I go to University in the area and have had many nights out in Newcastle across my Placement Year. Really cheap and always a good night out.
Social clubs, Placement Facebook Group to organize nights out and Team events.
