About You
The scheme was great! The quality of work I undertook was high which was daunting, but regular supervision meant I could enjoy the work much more. I’ve met some great people and formed some lasting friendships with my peers on the scheme.
Very valued. Everyone across the firm is willing to make time for you. The firm definitely lives up to the reputation of a ‘big friendly giant’.
My supervisor was ill, but the rest of the Pensions department stepped in and this meant I had the chance to undertake a variety of different work with supervision from different people. This allowed me to further buil my network!
I think the analytical and research skills will certainly be applicable when I begin my dissertation.
The Company
Brilliantly structured. Everything worked smoothly and there were no logistical issues (to my knowledge).
Graduate recruitment ensure the rest of the firm are aware that there vac schemers are present. This makes for an accommodating atmosphere.
We had a number of development sessions where we worked on presentation skills which are necessary to a successful career in commercial law.
Particularly in my department, I was given typical trainee work that wouldn’t take too long (due to the time constraints of the scheme).
The only way to judge a firm’s culture accurately is by being there.
It’s reinforced that a career in commercial law is definitely my desired goal.
Everything Else
We are to be paid for the scheme, although they’ve hosted a number of events where they’ve invested in us.
I didn’t have chance to meet people from other firms. However, this was not my aim or ambition when undertaking a Norton Rose Fulbright Vacations Scheme.
There were lots of representatives at all the social events that were friendly.
Yes. I was involved in a Law centre clinic as per of the pro bono work, and I was able to do the Legal 10k walk.
Absolutely. The firm are very accommodating and clearly invest in students as ultimately they’ll be the future of the firm.
