The Role
I loved my placement year with Enterprise. I was a stressful and high intensity role that truly shows you the company and the world of work. You get to have a look into multiple roles and to understand how to run a branch and your own business. Really helpful and you will develop skills you will take with you through out the rest of university and your future.
“Enterprise is a fun and friendly place to work, where teamwork rules!” Enterprise stand by this founding value, the people you will meet are so like minded and you make instant friends. In such a high pressure environment it is always recommended that you have a silly moment at work for example playing branch golf or football inside. You also get the chance to win branch meals out every month.
Your managers will support you in everything you need. They will help you to learn the processes that you will need to use in your career. The internship is for a trainee manager - so after a certain time they will expect for you to make decisions on your own and to step up as a manager.
Enterprise is a fast past environment where you will always have a task to do. This may be with actual customers coming into the branch or with tasks such as chasing debt- doing your folder work - or role plays to develop. This means that you do not watch the clock and the day goes fast.
As previously stated, you are a management trainee. You will be given a captaincy such as branch sales, customer service, business to business sales etc. You are then in charge to making sure that all the other staff are following the rules and aware of processes. So you were given a lot of responsibility.
The skills I have learnt at Enterprise are invaluable. Time management - you work long hours and need to complete lots of tasks in this time Customer service - service is our way of life at Enterprise, I have not see a company that puts customers more in the forefront of what they do Sales - you have to upsell every customer so this gives you good experience
The Company
Great! Fun and friendly place to work. Really happy with how my team were. You are in quite small teams so you get to know them very well. As you are all like minded you get on well easy. 10 / 10 for my team mates ! ! ! !
Training took place on: - 3 days at the start of placement - 30 day training - 60 day training - 3 month training - 6 month training - 8 month training You also get a half year intern day to celebrate achievements and a wrap up event at the end
They were very helpful in our development- they have a team dedicated to the development of the staff. I find that this made it very easy. You also get a folder that you have to complete during your time that you have to learn steps along the way that is truly helpful
Above 25 days holiday
I plan on going back to Enterprise after my third year at university. The great thing about the placement is that you complete the same programme as the graduates - so when you return you can go straight into a management role - what other placement can do that? Great!
The Culture
I moved to a new city to do my placement. I have made so many life long friends through being here. We go out together all the time, for meals, fun activities and night outs. You also get area nights out that are work organised events every few months !
Nottingham is not a very expensive place to live so it is quite easy to live here. I cannot complain about anything to do with this area. The only expense you have is to get to and from work - if you have a car it is only fuel really
Amazing ! Loved my time here and the night life involved ! It is a city with two universities in it so there is always something going on. There is also a large diverse community so it means that you will find people to get on with anywhere in the city
We have competitions running every month where you can win and afternoon off where you go and do a fun activity such as canoeing or you can win a day out to do something fun such as go to Alton towers. You also can win a meal/ activity out with your branch each month
