The Role
The branch environment at Enterprise is great. Provided you actively pursue what lines of the business you want to get involved in, the placement can be very rewarding. If you let the internship pass you by you probably won’t enjoy it so make sure you are active in getting involved in what part of the business interests you
Head office staff, Managers, Area managers and branch colleagues were all extremely supportive. For such a big company everyone goes out of there way to know who you are and be on hand whenever you need any advice or support.
Both my manager and area manager were great with me. Very supportive with anything I needed throughout my placement year
Working at one of the biggest branches in the group means you can be very busy. The branch environment is very fast-paced and managing your time is very important
The level of responsibility you are given is very much dependent on how much you look for that responsibility. During regular meetings with management make them aware of what parts of the business you want to do more of and you will be given the responsibility of managing these areas
The Company
Great atmosphere in my branch. Everyone got on very well and everybody was very supportive of each other
You are treated identically to anybody on the grad scheme. Training is given at 3 months intervals, as well as regular one-to-ones with management and the opportunity to be promoted. This makes this placement very well organised
You are given training every 3 months of the internship. The talent development department are always on hand to provide any support required. A training folder is also given to every intern, which will help introduce them to every aspect of the business.
You can be promoted on your placement year which is pretty unique. If you do manage to be promoted then you are able to apply directly to assistant manager roles after university. There are many opportunities to return to the company and they are very keen to keep you within the organisation once the placement year is over
The Culture
We had regular social events at our branch. As well as area competitions and other days out.
Hours are long so there isn’t a massive amount of time to get Involved in activities outside of working hours
