Marketing Film Intern Review

I have had a good time at my internship and I was genuinely so surprised at how worthwhile the whole experience was. I was expecting good things from my placement year but Warner Bros provided me with a plethora of experiences that I wouldn't have had otherwise. My team gave me a ton of responsibility and I can only imagine that this will help me in any future career. It ran smoothly and I struggle to complain.

I felt very valued mostly because I strongly believe that my team would struggle to run as smoothly without me and fellow intern co-worker. I would say that a lot of my team treated me as an equal and really cared about my well being and future success. It was amazing to have a fellow intern sharing my role as I felt a lot more confident and content in general.

I feel that at any turn I could discuss any issue with my line manager and I always felt like I was getting a good stream of work put my way. In general, the help was always there and even if I made a huge mistake, I was supported and calm through it thanks to the managers and my team.

I was kept very busy almost every day. Even if there wasn't a film running, I still had a lot of other work to do. There was always admin work to keep up with as well on a weekly basis. I feel like as the year went on, I got better at all of the admin tasks and was able to take on tougher roles and keep myself busy.

A lot of responsibility - a lot more than I was expecting. I was so happy to have received my own title to manage alongside the fellow intern that shares my role. It was great and allowed me to see all of the complex processes needed to create a campaign, even if it was smaller than most. I feel like this has given me a wealth of experience and will benefit me a lot in any future jobs that I have.

I feel like I have learnt a lot of core skills that will fundamentally help me with all of my studies, and life in general. Prioritization, organisation, responding to emails, long term planning, Microsoft Office skills. I feel like a lot of the insider knowledge I've learnt will help me a lot in working in the industry that I love, into the future.

In terms of the work space and team layout, I liked it. It was very open and allowed for very easy communication. A lot of the facilities were good. However there was a lot of building work that disrupted work throughout the year which was quite frustrating to deal with. Granted this will probably be very unique to my experience as the whole building was getting re-done. Other than that it was pretty good but could also benefit from more sociable spaces and sociable activities to create a break from the day (ping pong, snooker table etc.).

I think that, initially, some necessary training was quite delayed. I feel that I knew every thing about SAP by the time we actually had the training. It would also have been good to have had compulsory basic tech help (dealing with simple malfunctions and faulty tech, Microsoft Office Skills etc.). However, with all that said i genuinely believe this internship to be meticulously set up. The process from getting the internship to the end has been very smooth and I feel like there is a lot of support throughout the year.

I definitely feel that there were a plethora of options for training and even if I didn't have time for all of them, the fact that they were there is amazing. I'm so glad that a lot of them were compulsory as when I finished them, I realised that it was worth the time taken out of the day. I definitely felt like I was valued.

Definitely amazing and I feel confident coming out of this placement that I will have a good experience in my job searches. I feel like I've built a good number of experiences and it will definitely help me when applying for future roles. For hiring within the company I feel that most people get brought back in. The company values people that know the several processes within the company and so they are willing to take you on above others. There is also an amazing system in which we will be instantly emailed when a job opens up within the company which I find absolutely wonderful.

Yes there was. As there was so many of us, it was hard not to all congregate together and meet up. Such a variety of different roles and experiences - at some points, it reminded me of university again.

I live in Camden and it was cheaper than most - and most likely cheaper than living in Holborn itself. I found London to be extremely expensive but that could be mostly because of the fact that I come from Lancaster which is extremely cheap in comparison - so I will try not to be too critical in this sense. I feel that if you are conservative with your money then most will be alright. I also think that with the money that we are paid, it isn't too daunting. It will be even better for the next interns who are paid more. Overall, i don't think it is too much of an issue but it can be quite jarring at first.

I don't go out at all so I feel like I can't answer this question fairly. From second hand accounts and from some experience, I would say that it is varied and pretty amazing.

Yes definitely, and they were all amazing. Some of the best events I have ever been to. The team was always accommodating and always wanted the interns there. A lot of the introductory events were amazing, the Christmas events were great and the Premiers were surreal. Loved it all.
