The Role
The placement year provided me with invaluable experience and on top of that I had a really great time! I loved how much I learnt, but also that there was a very social side to the role, with lots of other placement students, graduates, apprentices and young workers in the office.
Throughout my time at the company I never felt like I was 'just a placement student'. Obviously at the start there was lots of learning to do, but I always felt like a valued employee.
My management were very good at guiding me. I would say you're definitely thrown in at the deep end and given lots of responsibility, but there is never a point where no one is around to help and answer your questions.
At the start I did sometimes find myself bored and with not much to do, however, I liked that I was not just given work for the sake of work. The workload definitely picked up and towards the end, I was very busy but never to a point where I was staying late for weeks on end or not enjoying it.
I was amazed at the level of responsibility I was given. I had the same workload as the full time employees around me and was completely trusted to make decisions on my projects. On top of this, I was trusted to give guidance and help new people in the team.
The skills I have learnt will aid me hugely in the future. Whether it's learning how to prioritise my time, how to use excel or crucial marketing skills which will help me get a job in the future, all will help me in both my degree and future career.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was very good, they try to motivate the employees and celebrate wins in monthly gatherings.
There were a few troubles at the start with getting everyone set up with training, passes etc. however, nothing that caused huge issues and couldn't be solved.
The company invested in me a huge amount, I got to attend a multitude of training sessions and talks, even if they did not relate directly to my job role.

Working from home
I would love to get a place on the graduate scheme at the company.
The Culture
The social aspect of the job was really good. There are so many placement students in the office as well as grads, apprentices and young workers that there's often some kind of social event on.
Not applicable as I lived at home.
In the direct area, not great, however, it is only a short train journey away from London which has a great Nightlife
Yes there were multiple sports teams which played after work.
