The Role
An amazing environment for learning and personal development as well as for making a real contribution towards science and patients, while always having fun.
Although still a student, my opinion was always carefully considered and valued.
There was lots of guidance and support by everyone throughout the placement. Help was provided for any questions or problems.
Busy with different things every day, this kept it interesting!! Busy enough to not get bored and keep learning and contributing to the projects, but always balanced with fun.
As you learn more you get more responsibilities and assigned to more important tasks which makes you feel more confident and that you are contributing more. Great way to become more independent and learn!
Many skills were developed during this placement. From organisational, management and presentation skills to programming, data analysis and web app development skills.
The Company
Very organised placement structure but not strict. There was room for extra smaller projects and the placement was always adapted to the company and patient needs as well as what I was interested in.
Provided all the resources I needed to develop programming skills. Provided advice, guidance and encouraged learning through online courses and short university courses.

The Culture
Cambridge is quite an expensive place to live but there are definitely a lot of socialising activities to do, a good balance!
Very nice restaurants and bars throughout Cambridge.
