About You
I really enjoyed the scheme. Was one of the best ones I have done - everyone has been so nice and the work has been top quality.
Felt very valued and not like I was a burden on anyone. This really helped me get more out of the scheme.
Supervisors were very supportive when they could be, although they were often very busy. Trainees were also very helpful and so were graduate recruitment.
The skills I have developed will be very useful for the future as I know I want to be a commercial solicitor so will be able to use the knowledge from the scheme to do so!
The Company
Great structure - was good having the presentations either early in the morning or at the end of the day in order to not have to continuously leave your desk throughout the day.
General atmosphere was one of a very friendly and welcoming firm. The work was challenging but very interesting which is what made it so enjoyable.
A lot of talks (such as the learning and development talk) really helped to develop our personal skills. Individuals at the firm would also invest their time in getting to know you and help you.
I feel like I really got stuck in to what it would be like to be a trainee at the firm as was involved a lot in the trainee tasks which was great as I really enjoyed it.
It's one thing saying that you are an inclusive firm with a friendly culture, but actually having experienced this first hand, I know it to be true.
It has made me realise 100% that being a lawyer is what I want to do. Although, because I loved both my seats so much, I am now torn as to which departments I want to look into!
Everything Else
Yes lots of opportunities and because the scheme was three weeks, they were well spread out across the scheme.
A lot of fun, was a great way to meet people from the firm, get to know them and find out about their experiences from the firm.
We had a Diversity and Inclusion fair but this wasn't specifically focused on the opportunities employees can get involved in outside of work and was more about the support the firm provides. I was only able to find out about activities through asking my trainee buddies.
Certainly - it has been very enjoyable and I have learned a lot. Would certainly be beneficial to others who are considering a career in law and want to experience working at a top law firm.
