The Role
You have to be ready to work long hours but if you love IB, it is a very good place to start.
The best thing about Citi (at least the Industrials IB Team) is the people, so nothing more to say.
In my case, I started working with the Metals and Mining guys and they really cared about me and my progress.
At the beginning it was pretty boring, but after the second week it becomes the opposite, there is a lot to do.
In my case, I was given the amount of responsibility I was expecting. Regarding this aspect I am very happy.
Of course they help but I think that current Finance Master or BBA are much more broad that the knowledge acquired in IB.
The Company
I can't say for other Industries but in the IB Industrials team, the atmosphere was very good. Good balance between work and fun.
Overall very good. Almost two events per week were organized (networking, collaboration, drinks, etc.)
In the IB Industrials team we have two training per week, which makes the experience more useful.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
They are doing well in all the industries so I would recommend it.
The Culture
As I said before, the best thing of Citi is the people, at least in my team.
There is not a lot of time for that, but Canary Wharf is not cheap.
If you have a nightlife you are doing something wrong. Usually you work on sundays, so FRIDAY is the day.
During my summer a lot of things were organized: Marathon, different charity collaboration, etc.
