    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • You have to be ready to work long hours but if you love IB, it is a very good place to start.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The best thing about Citi (at least the Industrials IB Team) is the people, so nothing more to say.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • In my case, I started working with the Metals and Mining guys and they really cared about me and my progress.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the beginning it was pretty boring, but after the second week it becomes the opposite, there is a lot to do.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • In my case, I was given the amount of responsibility I was expecting. Regarding this aspect I am very happy.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Of course they help but I think that current Finance Master or BBA are much more broad that the knowledge acquired in IB.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I can't say for other Industries but in the IB Industrials team, the atmosphere was very good. Good balance between work and fun.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Overall very good. Almost two events per week were organized (networking, collaboration, drinks, etc.)

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In the IB Industrials team we have two training per week, which makes the experience more useful.

  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They are doing well in all the industries so I would recommend it.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • As I said before, the best thing of Citi is the people, at least in my team.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • There is not a lot of time for that, but Canary Wharf is not cheap.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • If you have a nightlife you are doing something wrong. Usually you work on sundays, so FRIDAY is the day.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • During my summer a lot of things were organized: Marathon, different charity collaboration, etc.
