The Role
Really enjoyed it, lots of interesting and meaningful tasks. Nice co-workers and office. Good work life balance.
Everyone cares a lot about your personal development and is very open to answering questions. Was immediately assigned several task were I got to take a lot of responsibility
People at Citi really encourage you to interact with co-workers and ask questions. You are assigned two buddies, one in your team and one outside your team, so you always have someone to turn to.
Always have things to do without feeling overwhelmed, sometimes a bit stressed but in general good workload.
We are assigned our own internal projects which we get full ownership off, while at the same time having support from the team if need it.
Financial analysis and excel will help me in my masters studies in Finance, especially during group assignments and thesis writing
The Company
Everyone is friendly, but it is a classic open office landscape which sometimes perhaps isn't the most appealing environment
Very well organised, HR had planned a lot of different events for all of the interns. We had a lots of opportunities to network with other interns and seniors. My team also structured the internship well with defined projects and involved us in weekly meetings and held presentations for us about different topics.
Very much, received a lot preparation material before starting the internship and a full week of training before joining the desk
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Hard to tell since I have not yet received feedback, however I am enjoying my time here and feel very motivated.
The Culture
Yes, we went for coffee and lunches together. Everyone is very open minded when it comes to networking and/or just having fun together.
My rent was okay but I got lucky, London is expensive to live in. Restaurants and food is okay in price since I am used to Scandinavian prices
Canary Wharf has some bars and restaurants, a lot of nice places for after works. London has tons of great clubs but those are a bit further away from the office (but that's not really an issue)
London has pretty much everything. Since the internship is only ten weeks you might not be able to sing up for all types of classes, and it is hard to schedule things on weekdays because you cant really tell how long you workday is going to be.
