About You
The insight was enjoyable as I got to meet like minded enthusiastic students. We got a good wholistic understanding of the business whilst also gaining a greater insight into the day to day workings of an employee. This was done through a day of shadowing a team within the service line we were interested in
Everyone we met was keen to impress and was very enthusiastic which gave us a feeling that they wanted us to join the firm
The guest speakers from the firm as well as the recruiters that organised the event, gave us a lot of advice on the process and tips for success which made us feel a lot more confident when it came to the assessment day. Moreover, the shadowing opportunity allowed us to ask recent grads as well as senior staff for advice
Because it was a programme for final years and recent graduates, it has limited scope to impact our degrees however beyond that, it is definitely useful because we have a greater understanding of both the services and culture of the business we are going to join. This should ease the transition process into work
The Company
The insight was very well structured and the outline of the different days was highlighted from the start
Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable in their respective fields. The other candidates on the programme were charismatic which made it easier to navigate and build relationships on the programme
We had a few skills workshops to help with things like networking skills and other soft skills. In addition we had a professional judgement activity which further enhanced our critical thinking skills
It was very insightful because we had the opportunity to work shadow which besides an internship, is the most accurate depiction of how a full time role would be like
We had the opportunity to get a feel for the culture through the work shadowing, as well as through an array of talks from people that worked in different parts of the business with different levels of experience
It was very useful as you could ask first hand, any questions you had about your service line. Also, the work shadowing gave us a feel of the type of work we would be doing if we were to join the firm
Everything Else
You get paid for the day you work shadowed and reimbursed your travel expenses to the programme (for instance if you came down to London from uni).
We had many opportunities to meet and talk with employees, both within and outside the service line you was interested in
We had networking drinks on the final day, where we could speak with different employees
This question was asked by different candidates during the programme and the wide array of different activities was explained to us. Also some of the speakers told us a bit more about different networks they were involved in outside of work
100%. Regardless if you got an offer or not following it, it is very useful if you are interested in professional services and want to expand your network
