The Role
I enjoyed the people I worked with, they are friendly, helpful but also very professional. I enjoyed the work I am given, I have a real responsibility and also some freedom with the tasks I complete. I really enjoy the amount of opportunities I am given to reach out and chat with higher level management, even to the point of chatting for 5 mins with the CEO of EMEA.
Very valued. As previously written, my colleagues give me responsibility, they also value my opinion and trust me with what I do.
I have many opportunities to ask for support and guidance in terms of future career with higher level management. I also have opportunity on a daily basis to ask for help and support from my colleagues.
I feel like I am not overwhelmed with the amount of work, but I have more than enough work to fill 12 hours per day. I also feel like I can ask for more work if I need, and I can also tell my manager if I have too much work.
As much as I would want. I am given real responsibility within the company, which makes me feel like I have and add value, even within my short time here.
The skills I have developed will help me a lot within the workplace, and my future career. I have also developed skills which will help me in my degree and life in general.
The Company
comfortable, but busy. Everyone works a lot, but everyone will make time to help you.
Extremely organised. I was worried that due to the amount of interns here over summer, the whole internship would feel a little in-efficient, but it is the opposite. I feel like everything went smoothly and that I couldn't have expected any more.
The firm invested time in me via training, and every colleague of mine being open for coffee, advise or general questions. Also, as I am given responsibility, I feel that the company invested trust in me.
Company Parties/Events
Very very appealing, in terms of roles within the firm, the culture of the firm, the responsibility we have, and the opportunity to make a difference to clients makes the organisation very attractive.
The Culture
Yes, all interns met for food and drink regularly. Also, its common in my team for the team to go out for drinks about once a week.
As expected, central London is rather high, but salary compensates for this. Cost of living should not deter anyone from working at any firm in London.
Great, central london is great. Living close to friends and colleagues is great.
Some opportunities, mainly socializing, but also volunteering. There wasn't many, but I can't think of many ways in which a giant bank can organize social outings. Its not really important, you are here for the job, not to go on days out.
