About You
It was really good fun doing the vacation scheme at Taylor Wessing. Everyone was really kind and happy to talk. The activities and socials which were organised had a really good turn out from the trainees which helped to make it a really enjoyable experience. All of my supervisors and buddies were happy to help and really gave good insight into the firm.
I felt really valued in my time at the firm. The firm is obviously made up of a lot of very busy lawyers but they all made a lot of effort to come and talk to us and help us to understand the firm and their way of life. I really appreciated the effort they went to.
I received a lot of support on my vacation scheme. My buddies were happy to go for a coffee and give me a hand with any work I was struggling with. My supervisors were also really kind and put up with a lot of stupid questions from me whenever I asked.
The concepts I learnt at the firm will be useful when I go on to do the GDL and the LPC. They will also be useful when working at a law firm in the future. The networking skills that I gained will be useful no matter what jobs I go into the distant future.
The Company
Everything went really well on the scheme. We were given a timetable at the start which contained all of the sessions that we had on and we're told about any socials in advance. When there were any room changes we were old with a lot of notice and they also came to check we had seen it was in the new room.
The atmosphere on the insight was really good. It was a very relaxed group of people on the scheme, all of which really wanted to help each other out. There wasn't any unnecessary pressure put on us by the talent team or the solicitors we interacted with which really helped to calm us all.
The firm invested a lot into out personal training and development which was really great to see considering we had not been offered the job yet. There was a lot of help and feedback on the way so that we could improve and I even got some tips for my next vacation scheme.
It really helped me to understand the culture of the firm. We have lots of socials with the trainees which demonstrated what kind of things they get up to outside of work and let us get to know them a bit better. Also working there for 2 weeks allowed us to see what the day to day culture was like.
Really valuable for helping me to decide what my future career would be. The vacation scheme allowed you to see the work that trainees would do on a day to day basis. You can also talk to the associates so that you could see what kind of work solicitors do when they are qualified.
Everything Else
There were lots of networking opportunities. From the first day, we had a networking lunch where we talked to lots of the trainees. We had an associate and partner lunch on the final day as well as a couple of drinks evenings where lots of the firm turned up. Otherwise everyone was happy to talk so if there was someone you wanted to speak to then you could.
