Management Trainee Intern Review

I really enjoyed my placement year, the culture of the company is really great very customer service based. All employees are very friendly and talkative, everybody started in the same position and is there to progress and achieve. There is lots of help provided if need be and thorough training provided. At the start of the placement I didn't enjoy the placement as much and found it over whelming but once you start to understand and know the basics its a nice challenge.

I felt very valued by my colleagues, as a lot of time is spent with each other and you really value each other during busy times as you realise that you wouldn't be able to do the job on your own and your colleagues are vital to running the day. Team work makes the dream work!

There is support given, however management could of done more with guidance towards your goals by setting aside time to talk about your progress and goals other than just the reviews that are required. There could be more done to push towards sitting your MQI.

We were very busy on a daily basis, there is always something that needs to be done and lots of different activities to manage. Although we did have quieter times which weren't as busy but there was still tasks to do.

At the beginning of the placement you are not given much responsibility as you are just learning the basics of the company and the day to day running. However as your knowledge starts to develop you are given more and more responsibility. You can take on as much responsibility as you are willing and your managers will allow. Towards the end of placement management would take a step back occasionally and allow you to be in charge for the day to day running of the branch.

I developed a lot of skills over the course of the year, I believe that the main ones would be creative problem solving, time management and people management. I believe these will help me within my studies as I will be able to think more creatively and outside the box when answering theory questions. I hope to use the time management by effectively managing my time at university and prioritizing tasks that I will need to do.

The general atmosphere in the office is really good, everybody is young, happy and friendly. There is a good level of banter around the office. There are occasionally branch lunches for rewards.

The placement is very well organized from start to finish. The interview process is very efficient, there is thorough training provided before starting the job, regular reviews carried out throughout the year and an exit interview when leaving to take onboard any feedback.

Future employed within the organization is very appealing there is a lot of opportunities for promotion and you are able to progress at the speed that you want to. What you put into the company is what you get out.

There were some opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work such as fundraising, area nights out and sporting activities like football if that was what you were interested in. However, I felt that there could of been more.
