The Role
Working for reed had been an amazing employment experience. The support provided by their internal early talent team have been second to none. It has provided me with industry leading experience, network opportunities and training that I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. It is a great atmosphere to work and the people are great.
To some extent I feel valued by colleagues as you can receive bonus periodically based on your performance and hard work. There is incentive to achieve this each month and hit Kpis and targets. However on a personal level some management do not always recognise or value your hard work and commitment to the role as well as university.
Reed provide all placement students with outstanding training opportunities. I have attended the manor (the reed business school) on several occasions for essential recruitment and skills training as well as a number or online and physical couching sessions. The early talent team have provided support from point of application through to the end of the placement year. The team I work for are also very friendly
Obviously external factors like time or year and client factors impact he business of the branch and workload. On a whole I have been busy and the days go quickly because of this. At times when there is a big job on there’s more pressure and a larger work load but it’s good to be busy.
I have picked up responsibility and extra duties during my placement year. I support management with reviews, client calls and meetings which is a great experience. I have used my initiative and worked automously on a daily basis and am a confident resourcer. Although I have not always felt my extra responsibility was appreciated, it’s helped me grow in the role significantly.
Reed provide all placement students with outstanding training opportunities. I have attended the manor (the reed business school) in the Cotswolds on several occasions for essential recruitment and skills training as well as a number or online and physical couching sessions. This includes recruitment training, confidence sessions, customer service training etc.
The Company
Buzzing atmosphere in the office. Lots of life and laughing.
The early talent team have been very organised from application through the recruitment process was streamline and quick. We were communicated with through the whole process and provided all support required. Training, inductions and couching was schedules regularly to ensure we could get the most from the experience on placement
I have had the opportunity for couching sessions with my manager on several occasions to develop skills of my choice. Ie I chose to develop communication, presentation skills and organisation. Therefore my manager arranged sessions to develop these: as placement year student they have given all of us opportunity to grow and develop in areas/ industries that we prefer
Financial Bonus
Healthcare from home
Healthcare/Dental
Travel loan
I have been offered a conditional offer onto the placement year programme with reed which is a great opportunity to get and sheows their recognition for my hard work. I will consider coming back as I know how many opportunities are available here st reed, the support and financial reward available
The Culture
We have been in contact with all the placement cohort since March before the placement year. we have had training together, inductions, catch ups and socials to keep in touch and build relationships. We have been given the opportunity to network from this and it has been a great support system
I lived at home in my placement year so I was able to save up all my earning and paid minimal rent. I pay commuting costs but this doesn’t make a den on the amount people pay to live away from home etc. On a whole Manchester is quite a cheap place to live and transport is great
Manchester has a great nightlife I really recommend moving here
Not really given the option to do much outside of work. My team were not very social
