The Role
It was initially quite difficult, but once you are able to get to grips with everything it becomes more enjoyable. Especially if you get on well with your team.
Initially it was difficult to make an impression, but after a while you have the opportunity to really make your mark. I get on really well with my team, and definitely feel valued.
I received regularly training and on the job coaching throughout my time which was really useful.
Initially your workload is not the largest, but a lot of the role as a Resourcer is being proactive. As time went on and my responsibilities got larger, it was very busy. However, I never felt flooded with work.
There was definitely the opportunity to increase your responsibilities as time went on. When I moved into a fully fledged 360 role I was responsible for my own desk, which is similar to running your own business.
The skills I gained on my placement year was invaluable. I've received great training and have developed various transferrable skills across the year.
The Company
It was difficult to integrate initially as the only placement student. However my team did have nights out fairly regularly and were very easy to get on with on a day-to-day basis.
The organisation throughout was great. Especially as we were the first lot of placement students it was all very well organised.
In terms of personal development you do have the opportunity to attend various training sessions to personally develop. However, I never really took advantage of these.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I have had an offer to return on the graduate scheme for when I finish university.
The Culture
It was difficult as the placement students were based across different sites, however there were events organised with the opportunity to meet up.
I worked in Oxford which is an expensive area to live in. However, the placement year is relatively flexible with location.
In my office we did take part in some 5-a side football which was a good laugh!
