The Role
The internship has been an amazing experience so far. The people are extremely friendly and the breadth of knowledge of the employees is vast. Every day, I get to learn something new and meet great people.
I feel highly valued by the team. As soon as I started my internship, I had the opportunity to participate in the meeting where they were drafting the strategy for the MENA region.
I get good support from not just my managers/supervisors but members of the team. I am also assigned a buddy to help me through my internship.
The work life balance is very good and the hours are flexible. As long as the task is completed on time, I am given freedom to come up with my own working schedule.
I was given responsibility to create a digital dashboard to be used by the team to optimize marketing channels. Given the fact that I am completely new to the field, it's a huge responsibility to take.
I receive trainings both off and on line via meetings with specialists and also via online modules that I am required to complete. The learning experience is great and I will definitely use some of the concepts that I have learned here to better my academic and career skills moving forward.
The Company
The office atmosphere is relaxed yet professional. People are casual when you speak with them but when the work comes, everyone switches into a different gear and get the work done.
The organizational bits of the internship wasn't the best. However, this was understandable given the fact that my batch joined last minute and everything had to be rushed.
The company has given me a lot of resources to improve myself and learn new skills, including online modules and offline meetings.
Subsidised Canteen
I would consider working for Citi in the future.
The Culture
Social scene was mediocre but understandable given the fact that other interns were either attached or married.
Very expensive! The alcohol price here is very high.
Good nightlife scenes but again, extremely expensive!
There are plenty of things to do in the city but very few events are organized by the company.
