The Role
I have been an intern at Citi GCB for 3 weeks now and I have very much enjoyed my initial weeks here. Out of 10 I would rate the experience that I have currently had a 9 out of 10. I have been given tremendous exposure so early on in my internship already.
I feel that I am very valued by my colleagues. For instance, I am on a solo project which means that my colleagues believe in my ability to do well. Whenever I have questions or and umsure on what next steps to take my colleagues are always helpful. Overall I would score this section 8 out of 10.
I have been given a lot of support and guidance by both my manager and also my supervisors. My direct line manager has always been there when I have had questions to ask her. Alongside this, a different manager has been there to initialy help us settle in to the business area.
On a daily basis I am currently very busy. My day entails working on my individual project alongside going to different meetings with senior members of the organisation where I learn how their part of the business works. I found there to be a good work life balance during these stages of the internship so far.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my internship already as I am leading the whole project myself. I feel like I was valued a lot by my colleagues and this helped me settle much easier into the business. Overall I would score this area a 9 out of 10.
On my internship I believe that I have learnt to manage large amounts of data more effectively. This will help me in the future, especially during my later studies such as dissertations when I have to use large amounts of data and present them in a format which is easy to understand.
