The Role
Incredibly fascinating and enjoyable. Really helped give a wider insight into the workings of a elite bulge bracket bank with an American presence, helping me understand what banking entailed inside such a firm. I now feel financially far more prepared for such a career inside both an global firm and an investment bank.
Could ask for support at anytime - the wider chain of management were incredibly supportive and allowed me to ask any questions I felt I had. Such an experience allowed me to clear any questions I had about the firm or the wider industry, which was fantastic for my knowledge.
I was kept fairly busy - despite summer months providing challenges in terms of number of deals, I was able to keep busy by reading relevant industry reports alongside working on a summer project, something I had to devote a substantial bit of time to. As a result, I was active.
A fair bit of responsibility - really felt valued.
Skills were very useful for study/professional careers. Of course, while the wider relevance was for a career in banking - I feel the skills developed are fundamental to a successful career in most firms (namely good communication, analytical and teamwork skills). These were continuously developed and refined, on a constant basis.

The Culture
London is generally very good for nightlife, albeit expensive.
Numerous events were organised to allow us to leave the workplace - of course these were partially contingent on work and business-specific activity. These varied from drinks socials to citi-specific talks, both which were crucial to give us a wider insight into the firm and it's general culture which was greatly appreciated.
