The Role
Citi gave us lots of responsibility and freedom to work on our own projects and make the most out of our time on or internship
Colleagues took the time to help explain things if you had an issue
Most managers would try and give you time in amongst their busy schedules to explain what were the strengths in your work and what you could do to improve
I always had plenty of work to do but the manager ensured my working hours were manageable
I think we were given enough responsibility to feel like we were doing something even if it was the smaller tasks
The training started from the very beginning which gave us the basic knowledge we needed to know for excel, accounting and banking so will help me in whatever field of work I end up in
The Company
The general feel was friendly and welcoming with almost every individual taking time out of their own day to find out a bit more about us and what we were up to
Very organised! Things ran smoothly, most IT was already set up and waiting for us to arrive
Citi invested in me with a whole week of training followed by the supporting training also given to junior analysts
Very appealing future prospects
The Culture
Most of the interns went for drinks on Friday evenings however it was ashame that more of the existing workers did not do the same
Very expensive but the salary did more than compensate for this
Plenty of lively bars, particularly on a Friday evening
There was a charity football day and a global community day
