  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have had a very good year in the PSC Statistics team. I have work on a variety of projects and medicines.

  • Towards the end of my placement I feel like a valued member of the team and my manager is more confident to give me different projects.

  • I was given so much support from my manger. They encouraged me to do other activities to benefit my development outside of work.

  • There are busy and quiet periods but there is always work to be done.

  • When you gain more understanding and skills you get more responsibility.

  • You learn invaluable skills that you would not have learnt in an academic environment.

  • Generally there is a good atmosphere - cake helps.

  • My manager had a good idea f the level of knowledge I had so gave me work I could do.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I did some online training to learn how to code. The are other courses I attending throughout the year like soft skills and a simulation course.

  • I do enjoy working for GSK but I am intrigued to find out how it compares to other companies.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • At the start of the placement the IPs made an effort to get to know each other. It tailors of over the year but that's when you make your closest friends.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living was a little expensive but there were many bars and pubs with 2 for 1 to make up for it.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife was best in the summer months. The are a number of bars and pubs in Ware.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Opportunities include STEM work, sports and social, charity work etc.
