About You
I really enjoyed the entirety of the three weeks as I undertook challenging yet exciting work and gained a greater understanding of the culture of the firm. I also made great friends with the other students on the vacation scheme who were incredibly supportive throughout. The scheme was well structured and enabled us to have a well-rounded experience of the firm.
When completing work the lawyers were extremely appreciative and articulated how invaluable my contribution was. Often they were grateful for the amount of time I saved them when completing tasks such as legal research, contract reviews and blog articles. I felt equally valued by all the colleagues I met, from trainees to partners.
Everyone took the time to provide clear instructions and guidance on how to complete the tasks. They were also happy to answer any additional questions I had. I was given continuous support throughout the vacation scheme by my work providers who constantly checked to see how I was getting on.
I developed many skills and gained a greater understanding of the world of law. This will definitely help when studying the LPC.
The Company
Graduate recruitment put a lot of effort into structuring the vacation scheme. We were given the chance to experience two different departments and learn a lot about the firm through presentations, networking events and lunches. They also planned really enjoyable socials which allowed the vacation schemers and trainees to meet and discuss the firm.
The atmosphere was great as everyone was extremely friendly and supportive throughout.
They put a lot of time, effort and money into creating a great experience for us.
We were given three weeks at the firm, much of which was spent in the departments engaging in what life would truly be like at Baker & McKenzie.
A lot, we were given lots of opportunities to interact with other colleagues and learn about the firm's diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility initiatives. We even had the chance to experience a volunteer day at a charity shop in Brixton.
Very, I learnt that I would like a career as a corporate lawyer at Baker & McKenzie.
Everything Else
Yes, there were many departmental lunches, networking events, and socials.
Really enjoyable and well planned.
Mainly pro bono and voluntary work.
Definitely, it was incredible.
