    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I have extremely enjoyed my experience at DLA Piper as constantly felt included and supported even in the most challenging aspects of the job. Although we only are interns, we could feel that the firm values us and welcomes us which ultimately makes us feel more comfortable to provide a higher quality of work and be more productive.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • During the 3 weeks the firm has constantly invested in us. We were fed very well, provided allowance for lunch and sometimes dinner. DLA Piper made sure everyone was on the same footing when it came to taking part in events and enjoying our time in offices because they recognize that as students, our budget may be limited. We were introduced to some of the best and most senior lawyers and executives of the firm which was an amazing experience as well.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We have received a decent amount of guidance during the induction period which helped us settle in the offices. We also were provided with a trainee buddy that was always ready to help and answer questions, no matter how clueless they may sound. The support received by the firm, Graduate recruitment and our manager was amazing too.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have gained a lot of skills in this internship that would help me in my studies such as ability to research more efficiently, and to structure my research tasks in a way that would show my chain of though and would be easier to understand. On another hand, I have gained so many interpersonal skills such as confidence, communication and time management that I would be able to implement in my daily activities.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The internship was amazingly well structured and this is mainly thanks to the induction period that enabled us to slowly transition into the firm's way of doing work. The induction week also provided us with an opportunity to meet interns from all 7 offices of the firm, which not only shows how collaborative DLA Piper is but also that a lot of detailed planning was put into structuring the internship.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere of the internship was constantly light and joyful, even when the work was intense. DLA Piper made sure that everyone was taken care of and felt like they belong. What stroke me the most is how down to earth the senior members of the firm were, and how relaxed they made us feel. A lot of after-work events were organised with stroke the perfect balance between working and having fun.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested immensely in me and provided us with workshops from some of the most senior people with a lot of expertise and experience. I felt very valued and provided with an opportunity to learn so much things that I would never have had if it was not for DLA Piper's internship.
