    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The three weeks have been really good from the very beginning. The program is engaging and you are always doing something as there are so many activities to do and you can ask for more work from your line manager if you have nothing on and they will arrange something.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was treated like an actual employee and given genuine attention throughout the program. My line manager in my first week in fact spent more than one hour giving me feedback on things that I can improve in the future and did not just see me as a burden but genuinely wanted to help me grow professionally and as a person.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Everything that we had to do was set out from the beginning and we even have our own buddy that we can contract for anything that we might want and need if we feel uncomfortable discussing it with our line manager. If you needed support the support was there for you.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Next year I have a lot of commercial modules and the skills of how to proofread effectively, summarize and write articles with a commercial lens on the law will be especially helpful as in my law school I am being assessed on these things. Moreover, conduct around the clients will be good for my clinic module as well.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure of this insight was the best I have ever seen out of any other one. They did not throw us into the deep end immediately but rather phased us in and made us understand the firm better before we went into the departments. Spending a week for an induction is a really good idea and I hope that it continues.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was really really friendly and everyone was excited to see us in the firm. I really enjoyed talking to various people in my department and hearing about why they are in the firm. No matter how senior someone is they always find the time to talk to you and everyone is really down to earth.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The feedback that I was given was really really specific. This allowed me to be able to act on in fast and improve myself in a professional setting. Moreover, the tasks that I did also helped me understand what skills are necessary for a lawyer and the guidance I was given helped me to hone those skills.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The firm did not hide anything from us. Every person that spoke with us told us about their reality and did not put a 'marketing' face on and try to pretend like the firm is something that it isn't. I believe that because of this we got an idea about how the firm actually operates and how much the people of the firm work.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The company culture is evident throughout the office and in every interaction you have with a member of the firm. The values are everywhere around the office and you can even see some of them in the structure of this very innovative program. I feel like I understand a lot more about the culture of this firm and specifically how this culture manifests in different locations in the UK and around the world.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I finally feel like I understand what the everyday life of a lawyer is and I got a really good insight as to what exactly happens in different departments in a law firm. Even though I did not see all of them we had insights planned where very prominent people of the firm talked to us about their group to understand it better.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • The pay for this scheme was really good for a scheme of this nature. What made this really unique though is that we got reimbursed for certain food items that we purchased and transport which I know some other firms did not provide and as such even though the pay was the same the amount you got was more.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • In the office you can talk to everyone. There were many networking events as well where we met people from various departments and roles. There was a London BBQ, various food events, afternoon tea with the diversity team and afternoon drinks. The variety of the networking events was really good.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking evens were really varied and were really good overall. Even before engaging in networking we had a speaker come in and tell us how best we can network and how to go into a group or know when not to interrupt someone. That was my biggest problem with networking and that allowed me to enjoy the amazing events the firm offered much more!

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We had a lot of people talking to us about what they do in and out of work and thus we gained insight about what the firm offers and what the firm allows you to do. Even in informal settings in the office everyone was more than willing to share their experience as well.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would for sure recommend this insight to everyone, even if you are not sure about the career path you are going to follow. This insight has been extremely positive and an experience I will remember for a very long time. The feedback I was given was really specific and I have already started following it. This insight will for sure make you a better person no matter what,
