The Role
I am thoroughly enjoying my internship at Grant Thornton.
The atmosphere here is extremely supportive and welcoming!
Everyone here wants you to do well! I have weekly catch ups with my people manager and I always know that I can ask questions- even if they may seem really obvious!
I had interesting tasks to complete each day!
This is definitely not the type of internship where you just make tea! I was given the responsibility to complete tasks from day 1.
The internship helped me to develop my Microsoft excel skills and helped to improve my ability to pay attention to detail.
The Company
Friendly and welcoming!
I was given a variety of different tasks over the 6 weeks.
We spent the first week training at the HQ which was really helpful.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing! I really like the firm.
The Culture
We attended a variety of social events during the internship which was a really good opportunity to learn about the financial services sector from other colleagues.
The cost of living and socialising depends on the specific part of Manchester you are living in. There are lots of options depending on your budget!
I haven't experienced it yet but Manchester has really good reviews.
There were events for interns and trainees to socialise.
