The Role
I am enjoying my internship as I have been able to learn a wide range of skills and develop my knowledge on what working at Grant Thornton included. It has been organised in a way that I have been able to learn different processes of the audit.
I feel valued by my colleagues as the work I have been given has been work that impacts the final audit report itself. I also feel like my colleagues want be to succeed and help answer and questions I have no matter how stupid they might sound .
I was given good support by my manager where I needed it, however I feel like I could have asked anybody for support and not exclusively my manager which was an even nicer feeling.
I found it easy to keep busy through the tasks I had been set, learning modules I had to complete, and if I had nothing else I could easily ask around the office to see if anybody needed any help.
I was given a good amount of responsibility that made me feel valued and slightly pressured so that I worked well in a way that I could learn easier. Having said this, my colleagues made it very easy to not feel pressured by answering my questions.
I believe the skills I developed will help not much with the content but the presenting skills and people skills I have developed will help a lot with coming coursework at university.
The Company
The office was very relaxed and friendly. It was easy to ask for help and to talk and get to know my colleagues.
The internship was very well organised, with a couple of away conferences in the first couple of weeks, followed by being booked on a couple of jobs. I felt busy always and I developed a good range of knowledge from the different jobs I had been given
The firm helped a lot with training and development, with the conferences booked for me at the start, the various modules they had set me to develop my understanding, and the constant ease of being able to ask for help.

Very.
The Culture
Yes, even among the others in the office. The whole team was young and so it was very easy to get along with everybody. In the conferences it was nice to be able to meet all the other interns and have a drink in the evening and talk about life as well as my company.
I didn't live in the area and the cost of socialising was average
Cambridge good
Yes, there are different events and societies created by the company to make you get involved in such as sports and evenings out where I could meet other people and enjoy myself.
