The Role
I enjoyed my internship with Grant Thornton to a large extent as it was interesting and I learnt a lot in a short amount of time. I also met lots of new people who were all really friendly making it easy to settle in and feel comfortable in a new environment.

I was given lots of support during my internship with Grant Thornton to as it was interesting and I learnt a lot in a short amount of time. I also met lots of new people who were all really friendly making it easy to settle in and feel comfortable in a new environment. My managers and other colleagues gave me constantly available support.
How busy I was varied from week to week and day to day during my internship with Grant Thornton in Bristol. Depending on the tasks I was given and whether I was working in the office or at various different client sites in different locations the amount of work I got given varied.
I was given lots of responsibility during my internship with Grant Thornton to as it was interesting and I learnt a lot in a short amount of time. I also met lots of new people who were all really friendly making it easy to settle in and feel comfortable in a new environment.
I don't think the skills that I developed during my internship with grant Thornton are transferable to my degree course apart from competencies such as hard work and sticking to a routine. I think the skills I gained in my internship will assist me with my future career, entering office culture.
The Company
During my internship in the audit sector in the Bristol office with Grant Thornton the general atmosphere was good. everyone was very friendly and time of work were broken up with light hearted chats across the office which made the days go a lot faster and made the internship more enjoyable.
During my internship in the audit sector in the Bristol office with Grant Thornton the overall set up of the internship was good. On day one a plan of the whole internship and the things we would be doing was made available to us. Any trips were very well organised.
During my internship in the audit sector in the Bristol office with Grant Thornton in term of personal training and development the company invested in me to a large extent. all travel outside of the normal commute to work was paid for and overnight trips with food and drink were provided on 2 occasions.

During my internship in the audit sector in the Bristol office with Grant Thornton I have been made to feel that future prospects with the firm are good. A large percentage of interns are offered graduate jobs in which there is a 3 year training period where you complete your accountancy exams.
The Culture
During my internship in the audit sector in the Bristol office with Grant Thornton there was a good social scene across the whole office. Particularly amongst new starters, school leavers and the most recently joined graduates the social scene was good with nights out every Friday after work and on other days.
During my internship in the audit sector in the Bristol office with Grant Thornton the cost of socialising was fairly average. Public transport is available at a reasonable price although rent is high and if you are planning on going for a night out its a lot cheaper to have some drinks at a friends house first.
During my internship in the audit sector in the Bristol office with Grant Thornton the night life was good. I did not experience the night life so much Monday to Sunday but Friday and Saturday there is lively nightlife with lots of different options for different people who want to do different things.
During my internship in the audit sector in the Bristol office with Grant Thornton there were various different opportunities to get involved with activities outside of the firm. Activities such as football, yoga and dodgeball were things that I took part in an every year in July/august an annual, national football tournament takes place.
