The Role
Given a lot of responsibility and felt like part of the team, wasn't treated like an intern at all. My team sully supported me and were always encouraging me to learn new skills and gave me opportunities.
Definitely feel part of the team, my work is recognized by senior management which is really rewarding. My team and I are able to meet outside of work in a social environment and don't treat me like an intern.
My manager ensures I have weekly catchups so that I'm not too overloaded with work and everything is being managed. My manager welcomes questions and always gives me opportunities to learn and develop new skills.
Was pretty busy most days, very fast paced environment so you need to be prepared to have an urgent task to take care of. Rarely ever bored or have nothing to do.
Given a lot of responsibility, you get the admin tasks too but when someone was on leave, I was campaign manager for two flagship products. Also been able to develop strategies and present them to the team in meetings.
Learnt so many skills around time management, being assertive, team building, prioritization and silly things like working in a professional environment - it's very different to student life!
The Company
Quite a quiet office in a business park but if you have a fun team, it really helps. I tried to create social events for my team when I joined to try and get everyone meeting each other in a more informal setting which definitely helped us bond.
Very well set up placement scheme, check ins and training along the way and a strong focus on your individual development. Given lots of support from the placement team.
Was given lots of formal training in person as well as access to an online platform for loads of courses. Would sometimes be restricted to go to events and external meetings due to budgets, even though my manager thought I would really benefit from them.

Definitely would consider coming back to Samsung, as a placement student, we can be fast tracked through the graduate scheme application process.
The Culture
Definitely with the other placement/grad students, in my year alone there were around 40 of us so we always tried to have a monthly event. Do have some social events with team but not as much - depends on the team.
Being in Surrey, it's a bit pricier both for living and socializing. We would sometimes go to a local pub after work and it was a bit pricey so that didn't last too long!
Not amazing, so if we ever went out with all the placement/grads, we'd aim for more towards London
Was able to visit various other companies and agencies for meetings where I could expand my network
