The Role
I vastly enjoyed working at Citi. The internship is intense, however the gains from learning so much and meeting many new people certainly more than make up for this. It is a highly valued internship for a reason because the opportunity to learn from senior individuals at a successful firm is great.
I felt valued, and was thus provided support and help. However, it is not always possible to provide genuine value to the firm because you start from a position of knowing such a little amount, so through no fault of their own you cant always provide genuine 'value' for the team buy by doing some processes that are time-consuming you can certainly make their lives easier.
I was provided a lot of support in that I knew I could always ask questions and get queries solved by my hiring managers. They also went out of their way to provide me with feedback, knowledge and advice. Citi is particularly good in this aspect. HR also provide more pastoral support.
Sometimes very busy, and required working later, but generally youre as busy as you want to be. There isn't enough meaningful work for you to do, but you can do that well then offer yourself for more work, or choose to meet with people and network with them to learn more form them.
In one sense, you have a lot of responsibility. You are responsible for your career and for ensuring you talk to the right people, learn the right things and providing value to yourself and to the firm. Otherwise, its difficult to be given responsibility when you start a base level of knowledge.
I hope to utilise the social skills you develop to be able to be extroverted and talk to anyone at anytime, but I also hope to take these skills and leverage them into a meaningful career in banking, and Citi is one of the best for doing this looking forward in my career.
The Company
Busy, busy, busy. Working on a trade floor, there is lots of buzz, there is talking, noise and friendly banter. If you work in other areas of the bank it is much quieter, and people wear headphones and get on with their work but I worked in a much livelier environment.
The internship is very well organised. Obviously, there are a few teething problems as it is always difficult to be a well oiled and greased machine when you have so many interns in such a big intern class but on the whole the effort was there and it worked well
The internship is very well organised. The firm did a lot to help us out and to provide a large amount to invest in us. We really felt valued and it was a fantastic education spending the time to work at Citi, I feel like Citi bank did really invest.

VERY high. Very much looking to build, a large long career at the bank, Citi bank, where I believe there is opportunity for development, stimulation and to have a long career. Citi is also well placed over the next few year s to have a stable bank that will develop.
The Culture
Amongst the fellow students or interns or fellow colleagues the general atmosphere was in general highly collaborative, where we were all friendly and willing to socialise outside of work, especially as many of us had moved from various places to London for the internship so we could all rely on each other.
London life,
London life,
Lots. There are so many activities to get involved in, from seeing the british museum to after work networking drinks. Plus you are in the middle of London which is the capital of the united kingdom and is full of life, vibrant art, history and is full of so much to do.
